Product FAQs

What can I use a Fusion Lithium Ion LifePO4 Battery for?

You can use a Fusion lithium battery for any DeepCycle application that would normally use Lead Acid, GEL, or AGM batteries. Fusion Lithium batteries are commonly used for Marine, RV, Solar, Industrial, Performance, Golf Carts, UV, Mobility, UPS, and custom applications.

Is a lithium battery more dangerous than a lead-acid/AGM battery?

No, lithium batteries are safer than lead-acid/AGM batteries. Plus, a Fusion Lithium Ion LifePO4 Battery has built-in protection circuits. This prevents a short circuit and has under/over-voltage protection. Lead/AGM on the other hand do not, and flooded lead-acid contains sulfuric acid that can spill and harm the environment, your equipment, and yourself. Fusion Lithium batteries are sealed, have no liquids, and give off gases.

What do I need to change in my electrical system to run Fusion Lithium Iron LifePO4 Batteries?

The short answer is nothing! Our batteries are designed to be used exactly how lead-acid batteries are used. Common sources:

Alternator: Most alternators will sufficiently charge LifePO4 lithium ion technology.

Inverter: Set or program the charging voltage to 14.4v – 14.8v (12v system)or 28.8v-29.2v (24v system) to get the best charge, depending on the individual battery specifications.

Standard charger: A standard battery charger will charge Fusion Lithium Iron LifePO4 Batteries thanks to its advanced BMS. Fusion Lithium batteries are designed to charge off a standard AGM charge profile.

What about wet/damp locations?

Fusion Lithium batteries are sealed and 100% water resistant with up to IP67 ingress protection.

Where/How can I mount it?

Since there is no liquid in them, Fusion Lithium Batteries can be mounted in any direction, even upside down. The battery will work however you mount it.

How do Fusion Lithium batteries deal with heat/cold?

Fusion Lithium batteries have a larger working temperature range than lead-acid/AGM does. Please refer to the specification sheets for more details.

What about these melting lithium cell phone & laptop batteries I saw on the news?

Our batteries use different chemistry (LiFePO4), have a safer cell design (steel-encased cylindrical cells), and have an advanced BMS system for extra protection. Fusion Lithium batteries have been through rigorous testing to ensure that their safety features are superior. This is why Fusion Lithium batteries can be air freighted and are used in medical and mining applications.

How do I know what size lithium battery I need?

It’s more about what your priorities are. Our lithium has about twice the useable capacity as lead-acid and AGM batteries. So, if your goal is to get more usable battery time (Amps) then you should upgrade to a battery with the same Amps (or more). I.e. if you replace a 100amp battery with a 100amp Fusion Lithium LifePO4 Battery, you will get about double the usable amps, with about half the weight. If your goal is to have a smaller battery, much less weight, or a less expensive one, you can replace the 100amp battery with a Fusion Lithium LifePO4 50amp battery. You will get about the same usable amps (time). However, shallow discharges will ensure extended lifecycles of your battery, which is why we don’t recommend this. Refer to the specification sheets or call us with further questions or custom needs.

What is the life expectancy of the battery?

Depending on the model and the depth of discharge, life cycles can vary. Refer to the specification sheet for different model specifications and their life cycle expectancy.

Shipping FAQs

How long does it take to ship?

Shipping for any standard item is generally within 3-5 business days. Some bulkier items or special order products from certain suppliers (i.e: Victron) may take longer depending on stock at the vendor’s warehouse. You will be kept up-to-date via email.

How much is shipping?

Standard shipping for lithium batteries is $60, this can vary depending on where you live and what you purchase. Shipping is automatically calculated at checkout, so you can see exactly how much it is before you make a purchase.
